Double Major Program (DMP)

Students who achieve a certain level of academic success can take required courses from another department while studying in their main department, and graduate with two diplomas.

Students can apply for DMP as early as the beginning of the third semester, and no later than the beginning of the fifth semester.

To apply for DMP, the student must:

1. Have completed and passed all courses in the major program up to the current semester,

2. Have a minimum GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00,

3. Rank in the top 20% of their class in the major program,

4. If not in the top 20%, still have a GPA of at least 3.00 and a score equal to or above the base score of the DMP for that year.

You can find out which departments have DMP agreements with yours by checking your department’s website or consulting the department DMP commission members.

Minor Program

The purpose of the Minor Program is to allow students who are successfully progressing in their main undergraduate program to gain knowledge and experience in another area they are interested in.

The Minor Program consists of at least 6 courses and must not be less than 30 ECTS credits. These may include courses that are common or equivalent between the main and minor programs. At least four courses (minimum 20 ECTS) must be unique to the minor program.

It is possible to register for both a DMP and a Minor Program in addition to the main program.

Students who withdraw from the DMP may receive a certificate from the Minor Program if the courses taken match the minor program requirements.

Students can apply for the Minor Program between the beginning of the third and fifth semesters.

To apply for the Minor Program, the student must:

Have completed and passed all courses planned until the current semester,

Area of Interest

In the final year of education, students can take elective courses grouped by areas and complete their graduation project in this area to receive a certificate of specialization.

The aim is to help students develop expertise aligned with their career plans and elective course selections.

The Area of Interest consists of at least four elective courses and a graduation project, totaling a minimum of 20 ECTS credits. The graduation project must be related to the area of interest.

No application is required. The system automatically generates the certificate if the student completes the relevant courses. To obtain the certificate, students must complete the selected courses and graduation project with a GPA of at least 2.50/4.00.

You can view your department’s areas of interest on the Student Information System (EBS).

Student R&D Adaptation

This is a unique practice of our university to instill R&D culture in students. Its aim is to help successful students gain experience in academic or sector-based research and development.

Students join academic or sectoral research activities and/or department-prioritized projects. They are expected to participate in projects or lab activities at least 6 hours per week under faculty supervision.

From the third year onward, students write R&D project proposals and apply to related institutions with the help of faculty advisors.

To be recognized for R&D Adaptation:

Students submit a report of their R&D activities over four semesters,

If accepted by the department board and uploaded to SABİS, it counts as a University elective,

Students may also write and publish a paper, present at a symposium, or share a project report to meet requirements.

Three first-year students from each class are accepted into the program, plus three students from each second-year class.

First-year students apply at the end of the spring semester.
