Sakarya University is very close to becoming a Research University. Sakarya University was declared a 'Candidate Research University' by The Council of Higher Education last year. 2023 performance data took Sakarya University to first place among other candidates.
The performances of universities were evaluated based on 31 criteria (Evaluation criteria: Research Capacity (%40), Research Quality (%40), Interaction and Collaboration (%20))
Rector of Sakarya University Prof. Dr. Hamza Al stated that he felt proud of this success. He thanked and said “This success belongs to all of us. Everyone, from our academics to our students, from our administrative staff to all our stakeholders, has made great contributions.”
