The Council of Higher Education evaluated 201 universities in Turkey according to 64 indicators in 5 areas which are education and training, research and development, project and academic publication, internationalization, sustainability, community service and social responsibility. According to the report published by the Council of Higher Education Sakarya University is among the top 20 in 22 important indicators. 8 of these 22 indicators are directly related to research university criteria. According to the results of the report Sakarya University proved again its first place among the candidate universities announced by Higher Education on September 16, 2024. Sakarya University's success in the fields of sustainability and community service attracted attention.
